Show Nodes
Purpose
The Show Nodes tool is provided for displaying features nodes.
Description
Nodes in XTools Pro are the points that define a point, multipoint, line or polygon feature geometry. The tool allows displaying intermediate (vertices) and end (TO and FROM) nodes of features. Nodes of any point, multipoint, polyline, and polygon features can be displayed. For point features only one node exists.
The following layer types are supported:
-
feature layers based on gdb, sde feature classes
-
feature layers based on shapefiles
-
feature layers based on gpkg feature classes
-
plug-in data source layers (e.g. feature layers based on gpx files)
-
feature layers based on CAD feature classes - dwg, dxf, dgn feature datasets
-
XYZ event layers
-
selection layers
-
feature services
Usage
The Show Nodes tool is active if there is at least one feature layer selected in the TOC window:
To display nodes click the Show Nodes button on the XTools Pro ribbon, and nodes of all features of the selected layer will appear. If there are selected features in the selected layer, nodes will be shown for the selected features only. Besides, nodes can be displayed for a few layers selected in the TOC window.
Displayed nodes are represented as graphic objects. By default end nodes are represented with red color, and intermediate nodes are presented with green color. Nodes of point features are presented with green color as well. Nodes symbols, color and size can be customized (see XTools Pro Options).
Notes:
-
Displayed nodes are fixed between refreshes or Zooms/Pans and shown until turned off.
-
When switching maps, displayed nodes keep showing.
-
Nodes can be turned on\off for the map frame layers in layout.
-
Feature editing is not required to show nodes.
To hide (turn off) nodes of the selected layers click again the Show Nodes button on the XTools Pro ribbon. To hide all nodes on the current map click the Hide All button on the XTools Pro ribbon.
